Bossy r worksheets
When a vowel is followed by an r in a word, the r changes the sound that the vowel makes.The bossy r forces the vowel to make new sound instead of short or long sound. This rule is also ‘r-controlled vowel’ as the vowel is controlled by the r that follows it.
